Chatwoot Livechat

How to Install Chatwoot Livechat#

This guide outlines the steps required to install and configure the Chatwoot Livechat module within your WHMCS environment.

📦 Installation#

1. Host or Use a Chatwoot Instance#

To use this module, ensure you either:
Host your own instance of Chatwoot
or
Use their official cloud platform at app.chatwoot.com
A working Chatwoot setup is mandatory for this module to function.

2. Download the Module#

You can obtain the module files from either of the following sources:
From WHMCS Marketplace:
Download Chatwoot Livechat Module
From Ricardoneud.com:
Download Chatwoot Livechat Module

3. Install the Module#

Upload and unzip the downloaded module into the following directory:
/whmcs_root/modules/addons
For example:
/var/www/whmcs/modules/addons/ChatwootLiveChat

4. Activate the Module#

Log in to your WHMCS Admin Area
Navigate to:
https://yourwhmcsurl.tld/admin/configaddonmods.php
Locate Chatwoot Livechat Module
Click Activate
Then click Configure

5. Configure the Settings#

Fill in the configuration form with the following settings:
FieldDescription
Enable livechat?Toggle to enable or disable livechat on your website
Hide Message Bubble?Option to hide the default message bubble in the widget
Chatwoot DomainEnter your full Chatwoot domain (e.g. https://chat.yourdomain.com or https://app.chatwoot.com)
Chatwoot Theme ModeChoose from light, dark, or auto (based on system preferences)
Chatwoot Position ModeSet the widget alignment: right or left
Chat Widget TypeChoose standard for default widget behavior
Website TokenObtain this from your Chatwoot Inbox Configuration. It’s included in the embed script (look for websiteToken)
Access ControlSelect which admin role groups can access the module (e.g. Full Administrator, Sales Operator, Support Operator)
